What is Paint Protection Film?
Paint protection film (PPF), also known as clear bra or clear shield, is a thin, transparent polyurethane material applied to the exterior surfaces of vehicles to protect them from scratches, stone chips, bug splatters, and other forms of damage that can occur during normal driving conditions. PPF typically comes in rolls or pre-cut kits that can be customized to fit specific areas of a vehicle you'd like to protect, such as the front bumper, hood, fenders, side mirrors, and door edges.
The film is designed to be nearly invisible once applied, preserving the appearance of the vehicle's paint while providing an additional layer of protection. It is self-healing to some extent, meaning minor scratches and swirl marks can disappear over time due to the material's ability to reform and return to its original state when exposed to heat.
PPF is commonly used by automotive enthusiasts, dealerships, and detailers to maintain the resale value and overall appearance of vehicles.
